EUGENE, Ore. — The 27th annual Oregon Asian Celebration kicked off Saturday with Japanese taiko drumming, traditional Chinese lion dancing, and other cultural performances.
The all-volunteer event – approximately 1,700 this year – is at the Lane Events Center on Saturday and Sunday.
The Oregon Asian Celebration is the state’s longest-running and most successful Asian festival of its kind.
Performances during the weekend include hula dancing, Korean fan dancing, Indonesian traditional dance and music, a jazz trio from Hawai’i, Taiko drummers from Portland and much more.
