The Cooking Demonstrations area hosts various well-known chefs and restaurateurs demonstrating their craft. The complete schedule is posted in the area. Here we feature two prominent chefs.
Special Cooking Demo by the Iron Chef of
Oregon, Jeff Strom from Koho Bistro

Jeff is a graduate of the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, and was employed by the Playboy Mansion in 
Beverly Hills. From there he settled in Eugene where as chef he opened two successful restaurants, before moving to open his own in December 2011. After only eight months in business, Jeff won: Best Veggie Bite at Chef’s Night Out in Eugene (a rarity for a first year restaurant); the Iron Chef Competition at Bite of Eugene; and the coveted title Iron Chef Oregon 2012 at the Bite of Oregon in Portland.
At Koho Bistro, Jeff is pioneering a new style of cuisine, Local Northwest Nouveau, combining fresh local ingredients using old world flavors with new world techniques.

Taro is the owner of Mame Restaurant, a 15-seat sushi restaurant that emphasizes quality over quantity, and offers some of the finest sushi and skill that Eugene has to offer. Taro has traveled all over Asia and has been making sushi for 15 years. His vast experience in traditional aspects of sushi, as well as blending in modern flair, flavors and concepts, gives him the ability to express his love for the fusion of Sushi and art.
